Kerma liegt im Norden des Sudan am Nil. Vieles im Sudan liegt am Nil. Das ist nichts besonderes. Aber Kerma liegt schon seit über 5000 Jahren hier am Nil. Schon in der Steinzeit haben Menschen hier gelebt. Richtig los ging es dann mit den Hochkulturen etwa um 3000 vor Christus.

Zunächst entstand das Reich von Kerma. Die Menschen haben damals an den Gott Amun Ra geglaubt, einen Sonnengott, den auch die Ägypter verehrten.Später kam das Reich von Nabata, dann das Meroitische Reich und dann die Ägypter, die Osmanen und so weiter.
